Janet
Humphrey, M.S., L.Ac., has been involved in the field of natural
health care and Oriental Medicine since 1985. She completed her
studies in Oriental Medicine in 1991 after apprenticeship with Dr.
Robert Zeiger, OMD, and was licensed in California for the practice
of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She is nationally
certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture
and Oriental Medicine (Dipl. Ac., Dipl. C.H.), and now practices in
New York City.
Janet received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from
Marlboro College, and subsequently served as a research associate in
parasitology under Nobel Laureate Dr. Christian DeDuve at
Rockefeller Institute in New York. She later enrolled in graduate
study at Cornell University with a special focus on Nutritional
Biochemistry. In 1985 she became certified in therapeutic massage at
Twin Lakes College of the Healing Arts, in Santa Cruz, California,
and while studying acupuncture, worked in molecular biology research
at the University of California. Her curricular studies in
Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine took place through Five Branches
Institute in Santa Cruz and The San Francisco College of
Acupuncture, and in 1991 she completed a state-approved clinical
apprenticeship with Dr. Robert Zeiger in Berkeley. After maintaining
a California-based practice for 11 years, she relocated to New York
and attended Tri-State College of Acupuncture in order to obtain
state licensure. While attending Tri-State, Janet had the
opportunity to study Acupuncture Physical Therapy and Trigger Point
Release with Dr. Mark Seem, and Japanese Acupuncture techniques with
world-renowned instructor Kiiko Matsumoto. She continues to draw
from their work and utilize their methods in her practice today. |

Heidi Botnick, M.S., L.Ac., is a NCCAOM certified
acupuncturist licensed in the state of New York. She graduated
with honors from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture (TSCA),
one of the oldest acupuncture schools in the United States. At
TSCA, she was trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), as
well as Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM), which includes a
myofascial trigger point release approach, and Kiiko Matsumoto,
a Japanese style based upon classical Chinese and Japanese
acupuncture and western biomedical concepts. In addition, Heidi
had the opportunity while at TSCA to study under several highly
recognized practitioners and master practitioners including Mark
Seem, Kiiko Matsumoto, and Eric Stephens. Her training also
includes an intensive study abroad program in Beijing, China in
August 2005 where she attended daily acupuncture rounds at
several hospitals as well as daily afternoon lectures.
In addition
to practicing acupuncture, Heidi is also in the certification
program for Zero Balancing, a form of bodywork that works with
the structure and energy of a person, founded by Dr. Fritz
Smith, Osteopath and Acupuncturist. Zero balancing is a great
adjunct to acupuncture or a wonderful modality offered on its
own. |
